A firm grip on bales and rolls The Rhenus enterprise takes over in a close cooperation at Papier Peters the incoming goods, the handling of the raw materials, the waste removal of the production and the loading of the finished goods. The logistics enterprise understands itself as a special service company for the paper and waste removal industry. Alone twelve employees are exclusively engaged to look after the works logistics at Papier Peters.
Handling with a fine feeling There are thousands of tons of waste paper, waiting at our site for further processing. The raw material is relatively insensitive, large quantities of the waste paper are stored in the open. When a truck delivers a new load, the material is checked first, and then unloading and further loading is carried out by Rhenus personnel. The bales are transported by means of special fork lifts in the direction of the production site. When corrugated boxes and plasterbord liner leave the production site in big rolls, again Rhenus employees take over the rolls with a weight of up to four tons and a height of about 9 feet, they transport them to the storage place and load them later on railway wagons, in containers and on trucks. The handling of the finished goods requires know-how and a fine feeling. For securing the load with fastening straps, a special edge protection device is used. At the beginning, a handling agent When Rhenus took over at the end of 2005 the checking of incoming raw materials, the waste removal of production and the loading of the finished goods, the enterprise had been active for more than two years as a handling agent at the site of the Papier Peters manufacturing site. The excellent performances recommended the company as an exclusive partner for the next outsourcing step. "It was our aim to give the processes at the production site to one Service Company that masters the transportation and logistics competence. Rhenus masters road, railway and ship transports and proved its competence repeatedly as a logistics partner of the paper industry," declares Heinz Breucker, Managing Director at Peters Papier.
